STEM Advancement through Collaboration in Teacher Preparation (STEM-ACT) is a partnership between Westfield State Unversity and school districts in Western Massachusetts dedicated to a world where all students experience belonging, engagement, and success in learning spaces dedicated to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Events

STEM-ACT offers events for scholars and future teachers, current in-service teachers, and faculty colleagues, centered around our Community of Practice:

October / November 2024: Advising for Spring 2025 - Scholars connect with their STEM-ACT advisors.

November 7-9 2024: STEM-ACT scholars and faculty at the Northeast Noyce Regional Conference - Boston 2024 

November 6 2024: Community of Practice - Classroom Relationships (Reframing Classroom Management - A Toolkit for Teachers)

November 2024: STEM-ACT Web site launches!

October 2024: Holyoke High School, North Campus - STEM-ACT participation in Mathematics Professional Learning Sessions

September 2024: Scholar meeting with the STEM-ACT Team and the Financial Aid Office

September 2024: Welcome!  Launch Party for Scholars!

June 2024: Scholars selected! Congratulations! 

June 2024: Applications due for Scholarships for Academic Year 2024/2025

April 2024: Westfield State University Receives National Science Foundation STEM-ACT Grant to Enhance Educator Preparation

Summer 2023: Noyce grant proposal submitted to the National Science Foundation

Fall 2022-Summer 2023: STEM-ACT Team begins to conceptualize and articulate our shared work, in close collaboration with our school partners.
